Known primarily as a Broadway song and dance man, Bruce was born into a theatrical family and began performing at the age of 3. He is the son of Henrietta Jacobson and Julius Adler, and is the third-generation descendant of the noted Jacobson-Adler family. His maternal grandparents Joseph and Bessie Jacobson began the family tradition of Yiddish theatre at the turn of the century and it was continued by his parents as well as by his uncles Hymie and Irving Jacobson, who were all stars of the Yiddish theatre. Bruce has also continued that tradition over the years by starring in several shows celebrating the Yiddish theater and Yiddish culture, such as "Those Were the Days ", "The Golden Land", "On Second Avenue", "Bagels and Yox" , "Komedy Ala Karte" with Dudu Fisher and Mal Z. Lawrence, "Raisins and Almonds", and "Greetings...Sholom Aleichem Lives!" with Theodore Bikel and Judy Kaye.

He can present an evening made up entirely of Yiddish Theatre classics, done in both Yiddish and "Yinglish".  For those who wish it there can be a combination of these great moments along with the great Broadway, Film and theatre "song and dance man" moments in his Broadway programs.

His two recordings "An Evening At The Yiddish Theater, Act I & II" are considered to be outstanding examples of the genre.  Information about purchasing these recordings can be found on the Discography page.
